I am saddened by the passing away of Paul MOJADADI Rodriguez (Cuban-American-Afghan), whom I used to call Mojadadi Saheb, indeed, intentionally so because he liked that when he was among his fellow Afghans. He would often ask me to let him know if there were any Mujadadis in the visiting Afghan delegations so he could get to know them, in search of his Afghan roots tracing to the Mujadadi family. His distinguished career, described in the following piece aside, he was a fiercely articulate advocate for pro-Afghanistan policies in the DC policy circles. When I saw that Paul was around in a meeting or think-tank gathering on Afghanistan, I felt assured and delighted because he would deploy all his expert knowledge and skills in defense of Afghanistan and the countrys shared interests with the US and NATO alliance to help secure the future of Afghanistan. Majadadi Saheb, a dedicated Afghan, will be missed by all Afghans, who worked with him and knew him. May he rest in peace!
