I am so sorry that I have not updated before now but things have been a little crazy around here! Chloes surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids was on October 14th. The surgery went well, although the resident ENT had a scare...Chloes labs originally came back with a crazy result that showed that Chloes blood levels were way off, but new labs were drawn and apparently there was a major mix up with the first lab. Everything else went well with the surgery, but the doctors thought that it would be best to keep Chloe because her heart rate dipped into the 40s during and after surgery. We are pretty sure that it was due to the heavy sedation for surgery though because it improved as she began to get up and around. We were able to go home after only a couple of days in the hospital. As usual, all of Chloes friends on the CICU Stepdown made her feel super special and loved and made Chloes short visit there fun, or as fun as it could be after surgery. Chloes recovery has been slower than I thought that it would be and there have been times that I have sworn that this recovery has been harder than any of her open heart surgeries. That sounds crazy, but when all of your pain management and nutrition has to go down the very source that is swollen and sore from surgery, then it gets tricky. It has been a rough few days, but Chloe is finally making a turn around! We will both be starting back with school next week and we are looking forward to being able to go back to church and spend time with our other kiddos!!! Thank you for all of your prayers, guys!
