I am sure most of you are waiting for this message. I will place it here as well as in the notes (that is a requirement) and will post to Living With Cancer and Dancing Through Chemo, sites as well. Update on todays cancer visit. My blood work is definitely MUCH improved!!! On my notes, attached to my own site, is the notes showing details. I have tried to figure out how to get the notes to the Living with Cancer, Dancing Through Chemo site, but may just have to do a link to it. The areas that are off are a given for chemo. Not one of those are low enough for the doctor to be even a little bit concerned. Her mind was blown away with the results! She said it is square dancing, as she has had other patients doing exercises that do not require people to listen for cues to participate. They did not do any better than they were before exercise. We agree that it is the brain work that has us paying attention to the caller, rather than having a moment to think about the pain and discomforts we are dealing with. When I am waiting for the second tip to start, I do feel the neuropathy, and sometimes wonder if I will need to get someone in to take my spot. So far that has only happened once. We had far too many moves back to back that required spins, twirls, etc, and I got dizzy and decided not to try to finish it out, and had my standby fill in. I did leave Hoedowners dance early Saturday, knowing I was unable to do the final square. I was just too tired to manage that last one, and sat out of just two of them, so that put me dacing all but 3 squares, and dancing 2 rounds for the 2-step. I think I did very well! My oncologist is going to recommend square dancing to all her patients that can do it. Unfortunately, that puts most of them going to McMinnville as that is where they live. There is so much I could tell, but dont want to do a mile long e-mail. I also received an e-mail from OHSUs Knight Cancer Center up at OHSU Campus. As soon as they determine if the insurance will dump me, requiring me to pay back what was spent on me so far, they will determine whether to start a study now, or wait the time required after April to make sure I dont lose the insurance. It is only 3 months, and they are getting things ready, even if it has to wait. I will keep you informed as to what is going on. Have a great day Vicki
