I am trying to fit the word WEINER into my opponents game of Words with Friends, and I am again reminded of an incident while working at Neiman Marcus... An older, refined customer came in to make her payment. I took her statement stub and keyed in the acct # and last name, which was spelled W-e-i-n-e-r....in my mind I was trying to think how I should say her last name: was it pronounced Weener or Winer? Such a dilemma....anyway, I completed the transaction, handed her the receipt and said, Thank you, Mrs. Weener. She took the receipt and said, Its Winer. Oh, my gosh, I was so embarrassed, and wished I had opted for the more obvious pronounciation. But, with my luck, if I had said Winer, she would have come back with Weener. Haha!! PS: I cant believe I called her a hot dog.
