I am worried about one aspect of samaikyandhra agitation. Used tyres are being burnt in the open with a crowd of people around. The combustion gases emanating from the fire are highly toxic with chemicals that cause cancer. Some of the pollutants released are also mutagens, meaning they cause deformities in humans. The black smoke raising out of the burning tyres comprises of fine particles coated with heavy metals and other toxic chemicals.
