I ask Israelis: What would you do? This is from a - TopicsExpress

I ask Israelis: What would you do? This is from a facebook-friend from Germany with direct connections to the conflict. I think one can sense that from these words, they radiate genuine anguish. Some Israelis might find them offensive, but I think a person who fears for her loved ones has every right to speak that way. I write that because Israelis and their unreflected advocates in Germany always ask for empathy, they say: What would you do when you lived in Sderot and you are constantly threatened by Hamas rocktefire? We are only defending ourselves. Yes, I have empathy for the ordinary people who just live there and have the right to live there. But I have no empathy at all for Israeli politicians who willfully manipulated this conflict in order to smash Hamas, or whatever they want to achieve. Moreover, I wish there were more Israelis who not only see their side of the story, who also try to have empathy with Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere. I ask them: What would you do if you lived under conditions described here? Werent the Nazis the worst people ever in human history? Still when the Russians imposed a blockade over Berlin after the war the Americans send tons of food and help via air to support the civilians. By international law the Gaza siege that has been imposed by Israel and Egypt is illegal. It has been starving the occupied Gaza for 7 biblical years now. Can you imagine what prices Gazas families have to pay for food, cloths, medicine that has to be illegally imported because theyre not allowed to import anything or even personally travel anywhere including their own Palestinian territories? End the war, end the illegal siege on Gaza, end illegal settlements and land robbery, end the economic slavery built in the Palestinian territories, destroy the illegal seperation wall and end a two-race-based Apartheid-ideology! Free Palestine!
