I attend the funeral for the Grandmother of, Son in Law, Randy - TopicsExpress

I attend the funeral for the Grandmother of, Son in Law, Randy Holmes yesterday at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery. It is in Colleyville, Texas, just outside of Ft Worth. A highlight of the service was her abbreviated biography given by her Son In Law, Tom. He finished a very informative piece with a very touching personal declaration of his appreciation for her. I thought of all the humorous abuse cast on mothers in law in our society. Being an in-law on either side of the relationship can be challenging. I am extremely proud of my Sons in law (Randy, Brian and Robert) and my daughter in law, Michelle. They are good partners and parents. Jeans family, my Knowles in-laws have always been very cordial and caring to me and my family. They are a great family. My ex-wifes family has a group of burial plots in that same cemetery. It is known a s The Wade L. Banowsky Memorial Garden. There are spaces for about two dozen plots surrounded by a hedge. There is a large family history plaque in the front of the area and a huge Banowsky headstone across the back. I remember a picture with about 5 grandkids sitting on top of it. They are a great family and even after all these years and a divorce, they treat me kindly. They have a huge respect for family ties and have even moved a few family members form other cemeteries to the family plot. I remember joking with Bill at Wades burial about whether I could be buried inside the hedge or just over the hedge. All this to say I have had three good sets of in-laws. The ones my kids picked, the current Knowles family and the Banowsky family. BTW Not to worry! I have two burial spaces. One is in Mount Zion in Midlothian, TX. where a lot of Reeves family are buried and One with the Knowles family at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ft worth.
