I attended a large inner-city public high school for 4 years and I dont ever remember seeing ANY of our coaches or players challenge or openly disrespect game officials. It hasnt been until my own kids began to play sports in a Christian School conference that I have personally witnessed this....and it is shameful and pathetic. Not only do you hinder your team and lose games, but you also lose the respect of the Christian students that witness your carnality. You also blow an opportunity to display Christ for the unbelievers that we play- especially when these non-Christian school coaches show more integrity than you do. It makes me so thankful for our coaches at Crosspointe Christian Academy. They coach with spirit and energy, expect excellence, but still display integrity, restraint, & self control- and expect the same of our athletes. Thank you Mark-Debbie Yeiter, Justin Schellenberg, Nicole Paddock, Nichole Yvonne Fitzgerald, Amanda Dabelow, and Shawn Shadday for showing our kids that Christ is Lord of our life everyday, even on game days and on the court and field.
