I believe a one time 7 years presidential term, will help consolidate our democracy both within and without the political parties. Take the case of the NDC, if professor Mills was to go for only one term he would have focused on performance and not reelection! Again that would have defused the power struggle between his camp and that of Nana Konadu, a contest that threatened to split the party. And in anyway since 1992, have we not been having an eight years period of presidency! Rawlings (1993-2000),Kufuor (2001-2008) and Mills/Mahama (2009-2016)? So why not a one term only seven years presidency that will also save us money! So instead of organizing presidential elections every 4 years we organize elections once every 7 years!
