I believe it is extremely important to get the facts straight. I - TopicsExpress

I believe it is extremely important to get the facts straight. I made comments in direct response to what many have called the unfortunate comments made by Mr Ivor Greenstreet at the 8th National Delegates Forum of the NDC. I have seen the deliberate attempt by some elements in the NPP and some sections of circular media to skew the comments I made to an attack on PLWD. I find the cheap political capital being sought distasteful and unfortunate. No where in my comment did I make reference to disability. Mr Greenstreets comments were not one of ability or disability. It was one of philosophy. One representative of His thinking. I challenged His thinking. I challenged His philosophy. I have worked with the National Council for PWDs and the Ghana Federation of the Disabled when I worked in the then Ministry of Employment & Social Welfare and I appreciate their contribution to National development. I doubt that these mischievous inference would have been drawn if my comments had referred to Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, who also spoke and berated Government at the same program. My criticism remains one of thinking and philosophy. Not physical attributes. I leave this matter to the judgement of everyone.
