I can admit when Im wrong...I told my little nephew Timberland was owned by the KKKs...probably not something I should be discussing with a 6 year old who doesnt see color with any one..but this was not true..however on an interview with Oprah the owner did say the symbol of the tree represented the trees his ancestors used to hang slaves....he also says he will prefer Timberlands to not be worn by black people... Question...what is the appropriate age to discuss the issues in the world with your children.whether it be racial issues, police profiling, the evils of entertainment propaganda,,etc...or do we allow them to stay innocent until they learn about it on their own terms or when they are older?
