I cant help but smile about Fiji afternoons .. You see the school kids heading home in groups, singing, running and playing . Then all goes quiet whilst they change and do chores. Then about an hour later you see them meet up and gain in numbers as they walk. In Sydney people would be fearful this is a gang mentality.. Here is called playing. I know... Im just as shocked as you! They collect their friends as they walk and then go to the vacant blocks, parks, ovals and even quiet streets then pick teams and play football, cricket, volleyball and some simple age appropriate games. Technology is here but hasnt taken over life. Outside games are more important than mobile phones and friends in person are better then friends online.
