I cant tell where Canon thinks its going... They just announced the 7D Mark II, which lags the new Nikon D750 in every technical aspect, although the 7D Mark II is $500 less than the D750. Nikon has already released its 2nd-generation of 36 Mpixel cameras, the D810, which is not only technically superior to Canons years-old 5D Mark III 22 Mpixel camera but also costs $200 _less_ than the Canon. And Sony offers the a7R 36 Mpixel mirrorless camera for over $1000 less than either the D810 or the 5D Mark III... This is about the same price as the Nikon D750, and only $500 more than the Canon 7D Mark II. (The a7R uses the same 36 Mpixel sensor Sony sells Nikon for use in the D8xx series.) Canon simply has nothing to compete with the D810 or the a7R, and honestly there arent even rumors of anything competitive on the way from them. If I didnt have so much tied up in Canon lenses I think Id be jumping ship right about now... and its still a near thing.
