I cant wait for this to happen in Canada. Civil suits should be brought against CertaPay and Acxsys Corporation (a company owned by eight of Canadas largest financial institutions). If you claim banking services are an essential service that must be bailed out when management gambles and losses, then you cant allow them to run their anti-competitive cartel entrepreneurially (i.e. allow them to privatize the profits, socialize the losses). Its one or the other. If its an essential service, then you cant yank essential banking services in the 21st century from an **individual** who is doing nothing illegal, is paying his banking fees, and is simply pursuing his conscience in a peaceful manner. To do so is discrimination and is protected by the 1982 Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Closing ones bank account adversely effects their credit rating at TransUnion and Equifax and black lists the individual (again on their credit bureau) so that no further bank accounts can be opened. THAT, is the real reason banks are now pulling your credit bureau before theyll allow you to open a bank account. It has caused untold pain and suffering for those Canadians affected by this discrimination.
