I challenge you to do this at least once a day. Pick out a wingman you have only spoken to briefly in the past and strike up a conversation. Oftentimes, a simple, How are things going? is enough to get someone to open up and create a connection. If they are really struggling with an issue, you may be surprised just how much they open up. This is a good message, although I think were not hitting the nail on the head so much as glancing off it. People would do this more often naturally -- without the pleadings of commanders -- if we gave them time and narrowed their focus to an appropriate level. The real star of this show is Travis PA, which has labeled Lt. Col. Jeremy Reeves 6th Air Refueling commander. I can assure you there have been more than six instances of air refueling, and therefore more than six commanders of such instances. When we start weeding the word squadron out of official titles, it makes the Air Forces determination to kill off squadrons grotesquely explicit. Or they should just edit more, and perhaps spend more time in the squadrons they report on so theyll know the standard lexicon of the US Air Force.
