I could not say it better than my Sister Kathryn Grant Frederick on why she is running and why Dad was a special person in so many ways: May 2014 will mark the 5 year anniversary of my dads passing to Acute Myeloid Leukemia after a very courageous and hard-fought six-month battle. All these years later, my father still crosses my mind every day - from an image of his light-up-the-room smile, to a thought of what advice he would have given me, or to imagining how he would have loved every moment spent with his first grandchild. My father is never far from my heart or mind. After taking a break from running these last two years, I wanted to run in 2014 to mark his anniversary in a positive way and be there for 26.2 miles with so many others running Boston Strong.
