I decided this morning to check the value of Facebook. As a network it probably encompasses the globe and one might say its user capacity is unlimited. Its commercial value has been estimated to be in the billions. As a social enterprise and this is the foundation made up of individual personalities from all walks of life supporting this beehive of casual forums which seemingly has become a normal activity in one’s everyday life. I personally believe not since the beginning of the industrial revolution has anything occupied our time so much as sitting down at our computer, our I-pad or walking around with our cell phone texting one another. I suspect history will suggest this developing era to be the great electronic revolution which has allowed us to conduct business and process contracts, purchase stocks and other goods and commodities including mail within moments rather than hours or even days and weeks thereby freeing up more time for casual activity. I used the term developing era because I believe where we are today is about where Henry Ford was with the Model ‘A’. The only thing that will hinder this will be the continuous “dumbing down” of our educational system and interference by some stupid, self- serving empty headed politician seeking to fatten his or her pocket book by levying outrages taxes on meaningful and productive ideas. I wrote and posted this this morning because I just know this entry will be over whelmed with likes and comments as well as millions of shares dispelling any notion that we the users are just passive zombies.
