I decided to go ahead and try the Royal Buffet. I had heard, more than once, that it was definitely under new ownership and that the issues that plagued its predecessor Mr. Stirfry did not exist under this new ownership. Sadly, it appears neither seems to be true. First, I find it hard to believe that a completely new establishment with new owners would be serving the exact same food (using the exact same recipes) and using the exact same sign templates with the exact same fonts on them. Is it possible? Yeah, I guess. But its not likely. In addition, while I was getting food for my daughter, I dropped a piece of peanut butter chicken on the counter. I set it aside, so someone could clean it up later. My wife split the remaining chicken between herself and another of my daughters. When she passed the peanut butter chicken about ten seconds later, an employee had placed the discarded piece of chicken back in the serving tray for some unsuspecting customer to enjoy. And when I went up to get dessert for my daughter, I saw a server do the exact same thing with another chicken entree. Thus is obviously standard operating procedure for them. So... was I impressed? You bet. But certainly not in a good way.
