I didnt post much yesterday because I didnt feel good and I was crabby. A cold, and the ugliness of the political world taking a toll. I feel bad for the good people running for office. A half-truth, rumor or bold-faced lie can be conjured up by the other side and mailed out at the last minute, giving them no time to defend themselves or prove innocence. The same half-truths, rumors and bold-faced lies can be spread around the world at lightning speed via social media. Now more than ever before, the finest leaders we could ever see are discouraged from throwing their hat in the ring because they dont want their name, or their family, dragged through the mud because they went streaking in college. Even if they lived a spotless life, there is nothing to stop someone from just making shit up and hiring people to make it go viral on the internet. If you want to know about a candidate = talk to that candidate. They are pretty busy today, but if you are an undecided voter, call their campaign and someone will try to put you in touch. Ive had the privilege of personally meeting many of them and can attest that there really ARE some good people running who havent been bought out by some corporation. They are struggling because of the resources being poured into the oppositions campaign by people who have no interest in growing the middle class - only their own bank accounts. Wanna know why the government isnt working for us regular people? Because WE can be bought, too. Shame on us.
