I do NOT want to come across in this post as bragging or like Im telling anybody what they should do. I just want to share what has worked for me. I plateaued a few months back and I was BUSTING my rear side! No matter what I did, I could not loose a single pound. I was at the gym for 2 hours at a time doing high cardio and a few weights for basic toning. I noticed I was leaving the gym super hungry! I think sometimes I would go on an occasional binge and justify it because I just killed myself with cardio. I knew I was eating healthy for the most part because I was meal planning, but I didnt have anything to show on the scale for my efforts for MONTHS! I went to a dietitian and reviewed my eating and exercise plan with her. She informed me that I was doing too much cardio. Wait, what??? I thought cardio is how you burn fat? She said I was burning all of my FUEL, not fat, and slowing down my metabolism. Oh... (Insert face palm) So I decreased my cardio to 30 mins of a bike or 1 hour of dance a day. Basically, burn between 350-500 calories only in cardio. Then she said, up the weights! Ill admit, I was hesitant because all Ive heard people say is that heavy weights make a girl bulky. The last thing I wanted was ANY bulk added. Well, let me tell ya, those people were waaaaaayyy wrong!!! Heavy weights build muscle. Muscle burns fat!!! In fact, it continues to burn fat even after you leave the gym. With that being said, between my prepped meals, healthy prepped snacks, heavier lifting of free weights and absolutely NO diet pills, Ive lost 13 pounds! Wanna loose the pounds? Start lifting them!!!!!
