I donated money to my political opponents, Pam Bondi and George - TopicsExpress

I donated money to my political opponents, Pam Bondi and George Sheldons campaign funds. I did not want to, but it is the law. Sections 106.30-106.36, Florida Statutes, provide that the candidates in statewide races that raise the most money shall receive the most taxpayer paid campaign contributions. No, I did not get that backward. So far General Bondi received $285,450 in taxpayer campaign financing and Mr. Sheldon received $178,547. I received nothing, because I have not raised enough money to qualify for candidate welfare. You may not care since you do not see how this effects you, but you would care if you saw these amounts on your monthly credit card bill. It is no different. Your money is your money. This is taxation without representation. This most absurd part is that your legislature claims that this law was enacted to “encourage qualified persons to seek statewide elective office who would not, or could not otherwise [afford to] do so.” Fla. Stat.§ 106.31. The attached link will show you who receives your money to fund their campaigns and who does not. So far, $2,811,413.00 has been paid to 6 candidates: Crist, Rich, Sheldon, Bondi, Putnam and Atwater. PS: I want my money back. election.dos.state.fl.us/campaign-finance/matching-funds2014.shtml
