I dont do this a lot, but I wanted to make sure I sent a special message out to all of you who have supported, comforted and paid respect to myself and my family during a very difficult time. The texts, emails, FB posts and prayers helped us all get through a very emotional past few days. I have lived out of state for over 15 years now and I was completely floored by the outpouring of support and love that everyone showed for my mother and my family. A lot of people told me how proud she was of me. Proud of the man I had become. Proud and beyond excited about our baby on the way. But I have never felt so proud in my life to hear how deeply she had impacted others. To me she was, and always will be the greatest, but I had not realized the legacy that she left behind and the impact she had on the community of Westbrook as an educator. To all the friends, teachers, and students that she touched in her special way everyday for the past 30 years we cannot thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts! She will be greatly missed and not a day will go by when I dont think about her, hear her laugh, or chuckle at something that wouldve cracked her up. Mum always said, Everything happens for a reason, we dont always know why, but things have a way of working themselves out! I dont have an answer yet for this, but I have never felt more proud to be called LIzs son
