I don’t know why Price Chopper would want to buy that lot considering that Apple Market, Hy-Vee, Ray’s Green Hills, Kmart and Walmart are all in the same two-mile radius on the Belt (OK, so Apple Market is technically on 36th Street, but it’s just a few hundred feet from the Belt). I don’t fault the corporation for wanting to get back in to St. Joseph, but why do they have to destroy a theater that I and so many others have rekindled their love for — and probably the entire discount theater business in St. Joseph — just to do it? That’s bad juju.
