I explain to my sons that our soul is like a spaceship that is alive and moves. It expands and travels.... and our bodies are like the cockpit....and yet both are alive and both control and feel the other, they are merged. One expands, travels, moves and stretches (the ship) and the other (our body) is simply aware, to varying degrees of this expansion, travel and stretching. But the spaceship is larger than the body. The cockpit is inside the spaceship. We feel as if something has left the body but there is no way for that to happen because our body form (in the shape of a cockpit/body) and our soul energy are merged into one vehicle. This is why Astral projection feels so tactile...because we really are experiencing what the soul ship is doing or experiencing...because it is an actual limb and extension to our body. This is my sense of it.
