I feel that if the organizers (disclaimer: Im not involved in this event) have agreed to the bylaws and regulations set out by City, such as repairing any damage caused by use and using the space as defined in the agreement between the two parties then why not give it a try. Maybe its a great event, maybe it doesnt work there for what ever reason... At least try. I tell you this, Charlottetown desperately needs to develop new and innovative event inventory to draw people to the city! PEI 2014 is awesome and im a big supporter but it cant be the only thing. People like Rob Oakie are putting themselves out there to create something and instead of being met with support from the City they are put through the ringer... If Rob can demonstrate his ability to host the event then why not try it... I applaud Rob for continuing to follow his dream of hosting a folk festival in Charlottetown.
