I feel very fortunate to live in the United States, a country that protects the individuals basic rights and freedoms, such as the right to bare arms, free speech, and freedom of religion. In the US, public institutions do not indoctrinate a particular religion and there is a separation of Church and State. I am particularly disturbed by the Tennessee state legislation that would allow a select few students, chosen by a heavily biased criteria that favors the majority in those schools, to proselytize and indoctrinate a captive audience of people at a school event that do not necessarily share their religious views. In my view, this is a violation of our most basic freedoms, in the name of religious freedom. Thank you, Lauren Young, for making me aware of this bill. capitol.tn.gov/Bills/108/Bill/HB1547.pdf
