I finished reading a biography of James Monroe today. Not exactly - TopicsExpress

I finished reading a biography of James Monroe today. Not exactly sure why, but I enjoyed this book more than most biographies. To me the most interesting thing about Monroe was that he was involved in the Revolutionary War as a teenager and then stayed in public service for almost his entire life. Reading this book was almost like reading a summary of the first 50 years of the U.S. He was the last of the founding fathers to serve. Another interesting fact is that he died on July 4th, just like Jefferson and John Adams. Ive already read a book about John Quincy Adams, so the next up is Andrew Jackson.
