I first saw this story when Scott Monty shared it on his personal feed. It seems Office Max rented a mailing list for one of their usual direct mail campaigns ( we get them all the time). But this one was different. It was addressed to Mike Seay. The next line said Daughter Killed In Car Crash. This raises all sorts of questions about the growing invasion of our privacy. In the LA Times story Mr. Seay asks the question Why do they have that?. I think this is a service Office Max could provide to Mr. Seay and all consumers. I would sincerely appreciate it if they gave us a very detailed explanation of where they bought this list, how they selected it, why it contained any data about Mr. Seays daughter and how we can prevent this kind of invasive and harmful marketing from happening to other consumers. Do you agree?
