I forgot to do an AZ update (and I have nothing but time), here is whats been going on: Just finished my first semester with a 3.4. I no longer have a history deficiency that is keeping me from graduate history courses so theres that. Academically, I believe Ill be challenged while not being overwhelmed. I absolutely LOVE teaching music theory, on a level that I never thought I would. My students were great, they were open to the off the wall lessons that I used to teach concepts. I didnt have the best semester as a saxophone performance minor and after a lot of thought and some advice, Ive changed my minor to music theory as well. The minor really will just give me credit for several of the classes that I would have already taken to flesh out my skill set. Due, in part, to my reaction to saxophone lessons, Ive elected instead to spend the next several years making sure that I still enjoy playing the saxophone when I leave. To that end I have joined the jazz band, left the Wind Symphony, and will be playing flute in the Symphonic Band (placed as the same time as SWOSU community band in a twist of symmetry). Finally, Jason is also doing well, but is looking for new work for more money due to Loves staying true to form. School is going well, and I hope to show some real compositions next semester. So, theres that.
