I fully support that Mt. Cleopatra in Palawan be declared by local government as protected area and then under the NIPAS law. This would provide enabling policies and resources to protect the unique endemic species, biodiversity and ecosystems and contributions to environmental services including climate change. This would also protect the remaining Batak tribe in the forests and enhance the conservation functions for fragmented forests and wildlife corridors.
