I grieve tonight for the loss of my dear friend Dick Way who lost his incredibly brave battle with cancer this day. Through these past years when he was often sickened to the bone with chemo and radiation, he never failed to extend his hand, and his heart and his prayers to others who were less prepared to bear the burden of their illness. I was among them once and bless him for the light he shone toward healing and recovery. I pray for his soul tonight, and for his children Paul, Tina and MIke, but most especially for dear Mike who sacrificed so much to pass these final weeks at his fathers side, an inspiration himself of self-sacrifice and humility and the love of a son for his father.
