I had a great day with the Rotarians as a pseudo-volunteer. I got to carry, lift, and drive to get ice in support of the 2009 Tsunami memorial event held today. One of the non-profits today presented $200 scholarships to children who lost a parent in the 2009 tsunami that hit American Samoa. This is the third year the memorial was held, and my second time attending as a Rotary volunteer. The stories shared were touching, the love shared was rending, and the meaning of the event to the families with links to the names read aloud during the ceremony was evident. Thanks go to Rotary of Pago Pago, Hawaiian Airlines, DHSS, and all of the other organizations and people who make this annual event happen.
