I had a very fabulous weekend with three of my girlfriends that I would classify as artistic. We experienced Kansas City First Friday. It was a night of tromping through disheveled, refurbished buildings turned into hip art galleries. Most of the night I stared, squinted, contemplated, and tried to view art through my friends knowledgeable art educations and experiences. I had silently decided that I was dead in my soul as nothing was speaking to me and I just didnt get a single piece of art. Then I realized I simply wasnt looking at the art that appealed to me. What I really like looking at is the symphony and canvas of the people Im surrounded by. I love how each city has its own song and within that song are a million different variations of its canvas. It was a collection of crowded rooms, crammed streets, funky music, trendy restaurants that blended into a coffee house/upscale/opera like experience with a hint of whimsy and irresponsibly. Then it all changes. Saturday night at a packed Comedy club had more of a dark Jazz tone with a hint of danger and smokey attitude. I like art. I just like the art that moves and changes and Im the only one that can vocalize the brilliance of what I experienced.
