I had been staying with the my Longs grandchildren in Exeter while Lyn and Brent travelled to Indiana.I watched how the kids kept up with their so busy schedule.they were always in and out of the house.Yesterday we cooked a special dinner with Lyndsey and Christian helping.both were good with the chopping,stirring with just a simple miscommunication.I told christian to put a cup of oil on the wok to fry the potatoes and carrots for the caldereta.When ready to fry there was no oil so i asked christian he said i already put the oil Nanay where i asked? He said there pointing at the pot of adobo cooking.We all ended up laughing while i got blamed for not giving out very clear instructions.Christian ended up draining the adobo with the oil and all ending up seasoning and adding vinegar and soy sauce to it again.Then when it was time to wrapped the egg rolls Lyndsey showed me a plastic looking lumpia wrapper.It was a vietnamese spring roll wrapper. Not having the time to run to Visalia to buy the right wrapper Tegan and Lyndsey tried to wrapped and fried the weird looking lumpias.In the end they ate pale looking not so crispy lumpias. The adobo, caldereta and pancit sotanghon turned out okay.The cousins bonded and played together.The young ones enjoyed playing with the dogs Mckinley and Paisley. Christian made us watched these four wannabe comedians who played tricks on each other and a Tom Cruise movie where people died and came back to life again.Not my type of entertainment but i had no choice since everyone was enjoying it specially Tegan who was laughing her head of.The night ended up well so happily with some left overs,Lyndsey said she is too excited to eat the next day..
