I had this conversation with a commander today. It was rather depressing discovering how many people actually deny their innate abilities, talents, and passions for money. I maybe a 20 something, but in the course of my life, I have come to realize that if your desires are based solely on a monetary aspect, you will never be satisfied. A significant problem that we as humans in this day in age have is that we base our success on how much money we have, and how many luxuries we spend it on. But, in my opinion, if you spend 9+ hours a day, doing what you hate, to live a life that you cant even enjoy, exactly what is the point? Im not saying that someone should live on a street corner with a guitar. What Im saying is regardless how many people tell you you cant do something because you dont know the right people, or you dont have enough money, or simply because youre considered to be an average person, at the end of the day, if you have the talent and the drive, you can accomplish anything.
