I hate sitting close to first class, especially when they leave - TopicsExpress

I hate sitting close to first class, especially when they leave the curtain open. Today is no exception. As I board my connecting flight from Chicago to Boston I locate my seat 10 C. 2 rows back from the first class cabin. The first thing that catches my eye is to older gentleman in the aisle seat across from me. Simple grey pants, white short sleeve golf shirt clean shaver withered skin. Nothing truly noteworthy It was the olive green octagonal cover, starched, crisp corners, the bill slightly rolled sitting 2 fingers off the bridge of his nose. Its center emblazoned with the eagle globe and anchor. Corporal stripes on one side, a Vietnam service ribbon on the other that got my attention. 30 minutes into the flight, a $500 suit clad 20 something from first class excuses himself to push past to the rear lavatory. I didnt give it much thought besides the mild inconvenience of having to lean in to let him by. Upon his return he stopped in the aisle beside me to address the Marine across the way. He simply asked him to change seats with him. As I watched the senior rise and go forward, the younger of the 2 added a parting shot. Thank you for your service
