I have a simple, childish enthusiasm for raking leaves, perhaps - TopicsExpress

I have a simple, childish enthusiasm for raking leaves, perhaps mostly because it IS so simple... no politics, very little strategy... just do it, and the results are obvious in an uncomplicated way. That said, all the raking Ive done lately has left me with a funny, rhythmic ache in my right elbow... it rises and falls about every ten seconds, and while Im reasonably fit, my resting heart rate is not 6 beats/minute, so I cant tie it to blood circulation! Its not a big deal at all, and will pass soon, Im sure. But what that curious rhythm reminded me of was all the interesting research that has been done about body rhythms in general, and (very related, in the end, of course) the oscillating rhythms of certain chemical reactions (well, ALL chemical reactions, really, but in many the oscillation is so small as to be unnoticeable). Part 2 of this post about oscillations and equilibrium to be continued shortly....
