“I have always wondered how the All Progressives Congress [APC] - TopicsExpress

“I have always wondered how the All Progressives Congress [APC] are going to effect the “change” they clamor about,” Mr. Kachi writes in his letter to info@naij. The vast majority of APC members once belonged to their greatest political opponent, the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] . They have defected to the APC to further clinch on power, continuing their misrule and corrupt practices. “The APC consistently laments that the PDP’s 16-year rule has only resulted in soaring levels of corruption, impunity, insurgency, armed robbery, infrastructural dilapidation, failure of economy, etc. “I said to myself: But the PDP is just a political party. It is the members that make up and define any political entity! If the issues listed above are indeed the PDP’s “achievements” throughout the years, then those PDP-to-APC defectors are part and parcel of the problems we face in Nigeria today. “Let’s go through the list of some “APC members” . Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi [current Rivers State governor] – spent 8 years as speaker, 7 years as a governor under the PDP; Atiku Abubakar [ex-Vice-President] – spent 8 years as a Vice-President under the PDP; Aminu Waziri Tambuwal [current Speaker of the House of Representatives ] – spent 4 years as a Speaker, total of 11 years under the PDP; George Akume [Minority Leader of the Senate, ex-governor of Benue State] – spent 8 years as a governor under the PDP; Bukola Saraki [ex-Kwara State governor] – spent 8 years as a governor, 2 years as a senator under the PDP; Timipre Sylva [ex-governor of Bayelsa State] – spent 4 years as a governor under the PDP; Audu Ogbeh – spent 2 years as a chairman of the PDP; Aminu Masari [former speaker of the House of Representatives] – spent 4 years as the Reps speaker, a total of 10 years under the PDP; Senator Chris Ngige [ex-governor of Anambra State] – spent 3 years as a governor under the PDP; Mohammed Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso [Kano State governor] – spent 7 years as a governor, 3 years as the Defense Minister under the PDP; Mallam Nasir El-Rufai [ex- Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, former FCT Minister, Abuja] – spent 4 years as the FCT Minister, 2 years as the BPE chairman under the PDP; Olagunsoye Oyinlola [former Osun State governor] – spent 7,5 years under the PDP; Segun Oni [former Ekiti State governor] – spent 3,5 years under the PDP. “And hilariously, they implored Olusegun Obasanjo, the most corrupt president of Nigeria, to lead and support their crusade. They [the APC] have criticized the PDP for crashing the system for 16 years. But Olusegun Obasanjo was part of the system for 8 years and was even seeking for more years to rule! “For me, those who left the PDP are the corrupt ones (unless they were converted overnight from their implosive tendencies). If you say you are no longer corrupt, kindly return all the country’s looted funds in your possession. Vote wisely, fellow Nigerians.”
