I have been asked numerous times about the marriage deal in West - TopicsExpress

I have been asked numerous times about the marriage deal in West Virginia. Some for, some against. I think everyone is asking the wrong question. I personally believe marriage is a commitment before God, and believe in the traditional family unit. Again, that is my beliefs which may not reflect that of others. With that being said, ask yourself Why is the government involved in marriage at all, either side? If the government was not involved in marriage, two people could still go to a lawyer at any time and sign an agreement to share things. Why does the government have to approve of anyones marriage? Why cant you leave that between you and your church? Leave marriage to the churches that people choose to attend, whatever that may be. I do not need the government to sanction my marriage to Brittany in order for the commitment I made before God to be legitimized. The government needs no more reason to grow, rather quite the contrary. What if we got government out of all marriages to start with?
