I have been asked to state my Stand on ICC , Our President and his Deputy attendance and the significance of the whole thing to me as a Kenyan . There is one thing which I will tell every opponent of the ICC process , I am a Kenyan . I stand by the ICC process and fully support it wholeheartedly . Any idiot who would disagree is part of the problem of impunity and tribalism that dog this nation. Who are you to deny that the months of December 2007 and January 2008 didnt not happened. Who are you to deny justice to the millions who were displace , raped and shamed in their own country . Who are you to call anyone a lesser Kenyan due to the part of the country they come from . Who are you to have profited off the misery of Millions and made My country the laughing stock of the world due those gruesome months of Post election violence . To the President and DP with respect and humility , it is right to attend the trial no matter how politicized they has been by Western Governments because one way or another the innocent need to see justice done and honestly no one is innocent in this country except the newborns of the day . Just plead out your cases and let us have peace instead of more shame as a country . I wish you both favorable outcome but not an escape from the justice . The shame this country underwent out of the stupidity of winning elections and attaining public status was too much to just shrug off and forgive our leaders for their mistakes. For my money I think we have the wrong people on trial . The 2 former Mighty principals need to be lined up and humiliated to attend their trials since at the beginning and end of it they bear the primary responsibility for what happen . One for leading an incompetent and irresponsible Government that did nothing to protect its citizens and the other for being the root cause of the violence in order to negotiate himself to Government . I need to see more of the Politicians going to Hague to answer for their passionate stands during that period of time , Let them say Ilikuwa haki yetu there that ensured the whole country and its economy ground to a halt so that they could be where they wanted to be . To the ICC this is a court of Law not a public drama festival , just stick to your trial and avoid issues to do with my country . Conduct a trial in private and away from the glare of the media since we need to concentrate on more important issues other than be remained of our Failures as a country on T.V. Let have more people brought to trial who are not black since election violence is on just an African Problem . But most importantly let justice appear to have been fully done and where mercy is needed let it also prevail . At the end of the day I am a Kenyan and we stand as one Nation Under God united to forge ahead to a Bright Future . Consul Daniel Makai
