I have been asked why the city leasing the park to the Historical Museum makes me mad. Here is why. 1. It is an attack on a group of people that cant defend themselves. 2. When did our city have the right to lease a public park to someone to make money. 3. Who will be next gay and lesbians, Hispanics, Jews, Overweight people. So what they have allowed the Historical Museum is to through money at a group of people to get rid of them. I think that we the people better realize that the group we belong to may be attracted next and then I am sure we will be yelling for help. 4. We have had lots of problems over the years with the Historical museum with their attacks on the homeless and the attitudes disdain. It is a sad day that when someone or a group does not like someone they can lease up public land for our city. 5. SHAME ON EVERY PERSON INVOLVED WITH THIS ACTION! THE QUESTION I HAVE FOR THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER, PARKS AND REC AND ALL THE CITY COUNSEL MEMBERS IS WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE GOD AND HE ASKS WHY DID YOU EVICT PEOPLE IN NEED FROM A PARK? WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSE BE. We were greedy and hated the fact that people are homeless. Then He will ask did not many of the homeless people you fought to get rid of in your town...fight for your country. Did they not fight to get you the freedom to cheat them, lie about them and treat them as second class people. I am ashamed to say I live in a town that has chosen to wage war on a group of people where a lot of them fought to give you and me the freedoms we enjoy today. I feel sick to my stomach and would love to have a meeting with Carl Brewer the mayor to see what his position is on the leasing of a park that One Spark had purchased a permit and it was valid until December. Please join in by letting the city officials know that what they have done is wrong and if they will not listen VOTE THEM OUT! Love David
