I have been heavily vested in this notion of John Wesleys analogy of a house being similar to how we relate and come to God. The more I read scripture, the more I see God always at work creating home for us and always calling us back home to live with God. Examples of God creating home for us: - The world - while in many ways, many Christians cannot wait to exit this world. Yet, God created it as a home for us. And in the beginning, God saw it was good. God wants to redeem and restore this home. - The church - the church in many ways serves as home. The church should be incarnational in that we are the body of Christ living in this world extending Gods welcome back home. - The Kingdom - Gods kingdom is both yet to come and hear already. When we can live more fully in Gods House here the more fully Gods kingdom is here. - Heaven - the Gospels reference how Christ has gone to prepare a place for us. Again, another reference to God always making home, or room for us. - God - most importantly - God wants us to dwell in Him. We need to find our way to God and remain in Him. God is all our we need. Our rest, our hope, our rock, our joy!
