I have been on a lovely vacation with my sisters. Yesterday we visited County Cork in Ireland, the place our ancestors came from in 1848 on a famine ship. Patrick and Mary Muraine started their difficult journey with 5 children but their 5 year old twins died of cholera on the ship and were buried at sea. We feel so much gratitude to these brave people who set off across a vast ocean with nothing at the end except more hard work and suffering. Today, we walked in the footsteps of the Beatles. We saw their childhood homes and the place they first played and continued to play for more then 200 times called the Cavern. It really is a cavern and smelled terribly of smoke and mold and sweat when they were playing there. Condensation of cleaning products would fall on the customers heads which was called Cavern dandruff. Now it is much nicer. Nothing fell on our heads at all! R
