I have been studying today. The learning tools are far superior to what we had when I went to college at ETSU 42 years ago. That is due to the advent of the computer, of course. We can go online to a specific web site and there are mock tests the students can take, videos on each chapter and little games to help one learn. By taking the mock test, I discovered the area in which I am weak and now know what to focus upon as I continue to study tonight. I am having problems with the technical names of common diseases and conditions of the scalp and hair. So, by taking that test twice and making 88 both times, I am going to continue until I get 100. I need to make at least a 90 on this test to maintain my A average. The Dave, God love him, although he supports me in this latest venture of mine, doesnt take it as seriously as I do. I think his attitude is, anybody can learn to do hair. Well, he sure couldnt pass this test without studying. Anyway, he has been exceedingly LOUD this afternoon, talking on the telephone in his Moses voice. Thats what I call it when he gets loud. A long time ago, a local attorney told me Dave had the voice of Moses in the courtroom. I dont know how he knew what Moses sounded like but I took it as a compliment for him. I actually call it his drill sergeant voice since that was his role when he was in the army. Suffice it to say it is LOUD LOUD LOUD. Anyway, he was talking to someone awhile ago and his voice escalated about 2000 decibels and was cussing and carrying on until I finally got up and put some cotton in my ears and then put my headphones on my head so I could concentrate on my computer studies. Bless his heart. I took a break and we had a glass of iced tea and I expressed to him my concern that I wouldnt make an A on tomorrows exam. He said, Dont you wish you had been this dedicated when you were in college the first time? Yep. I sure do. My response: If I had been this dedicated, I would have had a better GPA and I wouldve gone to law school and I could whip your butt during an argument. He just grinned and shook his head. Well, I couldve.
