I have confirmed with Ron Reynolds that the Historic Plaque that was removed from the former South Park High School building along with the plaque that honored veterans that were killed in the World War have been found. I would like to work with South Park alumni to facilitate a ceremony to have these plaques re-installed at the new campus. We cannot undo the horrendous actions of the former corrupt regime of the Beaumont Independent School District and their lead henchman, Butch Thomas in tearing down the building. But we must recognize that we have lived long enough to see a regime change and our local school district now has a better chance to succeed then it has had in a long time. As for South Park, they have a great new principal, Sharon Hendrix. Ms. Hendrix is sensitive to the Greenie tradition and would welcome South Park alumni to tour the new building and perhaps participate as mentors for current students. She would also welcome any Greenie memorabilia for display in the new school. If there are any upcoming Greenie events that you know of or that you are participating in, please share this message.
