I have had a couple of people ask why we have publicly attacked - TopicsExpress

I have had a couple of people ask why we have publicly attacked this situation instead of privately dealing with the super and the principal. We have been dealing with a number of issues with the principal and super over the past several months. It has quite frankly ranged from the frustrating to the sad to the illegal to the almost comical...almost. This summer there was an issue involving a staff member publicly discussing details of my childrens education following a more long standing issue with this individual. I told the super and the principal in no uncertain terms that if we had one more issue along these lines in any way, I was going to tell my side of the story and that it was going to go real public, real fast! When I posted my first comment yesterday morning, I was still very focused on just my own childs issue. I very quickly learned about all of you out there who have been afraid to standup for yourselves or have been blown off, etc . No child or parent deserves to be treated like they are wrong for advocating for their child and they certainly should NEVER face repercussions. Does it suck that it has to be this way? Yes. But, it is actually getting some action and a whole lot of conversation. Yes, Im the wife of a school administrator and I was asked how Id feel if this was Chris. First of all, Chris would NEVER treat anyone this way. Secondly, if Chris did to anyone what has been done to us, then he should ABSOLUTELY be called out publicly!!! Those who know me know that I dont let anyone in my life get away with watching wrongs be done. If you arent willing to fight to right wrongs, we probably arent very close. Never stop fighting for whats right because someday it could be you!
