I have just been officially informed by the Belize Book Industry Association that I am the winner of the inaugural Belize Literary Prize for my story, Barrel Reach. FBers will recall that I was soliciting ideas for this story a couple months ago, and I received rich and wonderful feedback. I could not have done it without you all. Marika Delilah Zuniga your story about the phone hidden in the shoes ended up forming a vital part of the story. I am grateful to you all for your assistance, and to BBIA for the award. Hopefully it will inspire the creation of more Belizean literature.
