I have lived in the State of Virginia for 55 years and we have always had a Christmas Season, not a holiday season. Christ is the reason we have the Christmas Season. In addition, I have lived in Georgia, Washington, D.C., Japan, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, and other countries and we Celebrated Christmas in those countries as well as celebrating in some Arabic countries with a Christmas tree, not a holiday tree. Congress shuts down during the Christmas Season and while they are closed they are paid for those days. If we cannot have a Christmas Season, then I suggest that Congress remain in session during Christmas or repay/forfeit the salaries they earn for the days they are absent from the Capitol. This politically correct manure has to stop, and our First Amendment Rights restored: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; .... ---------------------------------- In a wrapup letter of the work of Congress in 2014, Senator Mark Warner closed his correspondence with: I hope you and your family have a wonderful, safe, and happy holiday season. Respectfully, Mark R. Warner
