I have not been on here much this week, due to a combination of 1. A series of minor issues and 2. A series of migraines. It appears that I have over 170 notifications in red at the top of the Facebook screen and 17 messages in my inbox. If a long-established pattern holds true, Facebook telling me that I have 17 new messages will mean that I actually have at least 35 new messages and that I will have to go mining in my own inbox to find them all. However, I had a very good evening of errands yesterday. Among the good things that happened was another case of being in the right place at the right time. I had just left the cashier after dog food shopping at Rural King with Johann and Chloe. Several cashiers then stopped us to love on them and give them treats. I noticed a somewhat familiar-looking guy watching. He then walked up and said I know you...I recognized your dog. It turns out I met him when I sent Riley off to Ohio for PTSD training. He and his fiance do something similar to what I do, but on a larger scale (operating a rescue and also training/handling working dogs). It was one of the very rare times when I get to talk to someone who has more dogs at their home than I do...they currently have 23 to my 16. We began talking about the monthly cost of dog food and he asked how often I get donations of dog food from companies and stores. I had to reply only rarely. It turns out that they had just received a large donation of food from a place in Louisville. He then followed me out to my SUV...and proceeded to transfer 140 lbs. of Merrick and Nutro dog food from the back of his SUV into mine. Thank you very much, David Powell. The pack was very happy to see and smell the new delivery. (Nutro Ultra Lamb, Potatoes and Peas recipe. Merrick Pork/Sweet Potato, Duck/Sweet Potato & Buffalo/Sweet Potato recipes).
