I have plenty of SfS news to share today. First up, the score card: we are 73 per cent funded with eight days left in the campaign! Given that the festival is still just over a month away, that’s pretty amazing! (concert goers tend to buy tickets at the last minute). Thank you all for investing in this project now rather than later. This helps us immeasurably by enabling our team to focus on making the event everything we want it to be. Just yesterday Bella Caledonia ran an excellent article by arts journalist Vonny Moyes about the SfS project. It’s a fantastic read, and includes news regarding a major new addition to the lineup: Shooglenifty no less! (see post below). Please help us to complete our funding by sharing this article far and wide, on your Facebook pages, by email… Thank you! And finally, we have added a new member to our SfS team, James Mackintosh is the percussionist with Shooglenifty, and as well, probably the finest percussionist in Scotland. He has played with most of our artists in the past (James is often to be seen on Transatlantic Sessions); and his team role will be to create a house band such that transitions between acts on our packed night will be seamless.
